Farmer Managed Natural Regeneration (FMNR)
Identifying a Site for FMNR
- Any other place may be ideal as long as there are stumps or shrubs that are preferred and viable
- An FMNR site may be right in a farmers’ field, grazing land, an old forest that was destroyed, rocky places where no cultivation takes place or even within the neighborhood or any other palace of the community’s choice.
- When the community begins to embrace the idea of FMNR each member is at liberty to choose his/her own place where they can start a forest of their own.
- This is the most cost effective way to establish a forest.
