Farmer Managed Natural Regeneration (FMNR)

Farmer Managed Natural Regeneration (FMNR)

Identifying a Site for FMNR

  1. Any other place may be ideal as long as there are stumps or shrubs that are preferred and viable
  2. An FMNR site may be right in a farmers’ field, grazing land, an old forest that was destroyed, rocky places where no cultivation takes place or even within the neighborhood or any other palace of the community’s choice.
  3. When the community begins to embrace the idea of FMNR each member is at liberty to choose his/her own place where they can start a forest of their own.
  4. This is the most cost effective way to establish a forest.
