3.0 LAND PREPARATION
- Establish erosion control systems.
- Cultivate soil by ploughing to remove weeds and loosening the soil.
- Plough the land a second time to level it in preparation for the suckers.
- The planting hole: should be at least 60cm deep with a diameter of 90cm. it should be dug 2 months in advance.
- Dwarf varieties can be spaced 2m x 2m or 2.3m x 2.3m depending on the soil fertility and as for the giant banana varieties a spacing of either 3m x 3m or 3.5m x 3.m must be observed.
