5.1 Weeding
- These are unwanted plants that competes for light, nutrients and water with crops
- Weeding is done mechanically or by hand. Keep the crop weed- free for up to 6 weeks after germination.
- Earth up the ridges or rows to facilitate pegging and development of pods
- Care should be taken to avoid damage pegs and development pods when weeding
- Late weeding is not encouraged
5.2 Fertilization
- Currently there are no fertilizer recommendations for ground bean
- The seed should be inoculated with inoculants
